It's Been Awhile
Oh, where to begin...
This country has gone crazy!!! Well, maybe not the country, but it's liberal leaders. I am so tired of the fear and the crisis. Yes, we are experiencing difficult economic times. So did my grandparents. My Nana had one dress during the Great Depression, my daughters have so many clothes that I get sick of doing laundry (but blessed). My Grandpa had to look for food for his brothers and sisters in dumpsters, I complain that I need to lose weight (but blessed). The 'educated' liberal leaders need to take a lesson from the folks that lived through WWII, the Great Depression, recessions, the Cold War, the Civil Rights Movement, Vietnam, Jimmy Carter, the list goes on and on - these people have seen it all and amazingly they have prevailed without Obama, Pelosi and Reed.

A Charge to Keep
How many debates have there been about the Mona Lisa? Our experiences and beliefs help us interpret and identify with art. If the viewer of a piece cannot interpret the art how they see fit then what is the point? Once I was standing in front of a painting at the Houston Museum of Fine Art and was really thinking about what I 'got' from the painting. A couple came and stood next to me and began discussing what they thought the painting was about. My version of what I thought the artist was conveying and their version were completely different. I wondered if we were even looking at the same painting. But that is what art is. It is like poetry. It can mean different things to different people. So if a person looks at a painting and interprets it differently than what the artist intended, don't scoff like the 'educated elite'. That is what the painting means to him and that is the true beauty of art.

Eli Stone Cancelled
God. He uses these visions to help family, friends and society at large. The last show that I watched (12/31/08) sent me into a fit. The episode centered around the main storyline about a transgendered minister who is suing the Church because they fired him. After 40 minutes of listening to how the congregation is intolerant to the poor plight of the average transgendered American, Michael/Michelle wins the case and then blackmails the church into allowing him/her to remain the pastor. Are you kidding me? A sub story consisted of a female attorney who is pregnant and finds out that her baby might possibly have Downs Syndrome. She informs a coworker who then tells her that she should put herself first because that is what moms do. Okay, if a fetus isn't considered a baby to abortion activists then should a woman carrying a fetus be considered a mom? Luckily for the unborn baby further test show that the baby is perfect so it gets to live because we can't give birth to non perfect babies, right? Needless to say, I am no longer an Eli fan. Sorry, Eli.
I am so tired of Hollywood trying to insert their liberal views into my life. They are demoralizing society by bringing their agendas into our homes. I say enough is enough. I will not allow them to weaken my belief system or that of my children. What happened to the days where TV was for family entertainment. Now it is for their liberal social revolution. We need to take back our families, take back our society!
Side note: yeah, ABC cancelled Eli Stone!

Bookstore Propaganda
My husband received one for a bookstore that we frequently patron. I had a raging headache, but did not want to disappoint so we made it a night and went gift card spending and to the movie. Due to my discomfort I was feeling slightly morose, a bit moody, if you will. I wondered through the many isles of 'The Art of Henna' and 'Samurai Warrior' and made my way back to the Current Event section, which oddly enough is located all the way at the back of the store. I perused the isle and Glenn Beck caught my eye. I had been meaning to pick up a copy of his 'Christmas Sweater' book. I had passed that on my way back and there were several copies available. Then another book came to view. It was one about how the Republican party is imploding. What? Another book on how horrible George W. Bush is, which I'm really getting tired of hearing. One about how great Obama is (wake up people, he really hasn't even done anything yet!) Oh yeah! Michael Medved's book! Then another about the atrocities of the Bush years (war monger, blah, blah, blah). Another about Obama the Great and so on and so on...
It got me thinking about the Republican image. In the car I mentioned to my husband how the Republicans really need to do something about the image they project to the nation because people really have the wrong perception of us. Then I amended my statement. It is not the image that we project it is the image that is thrust upon us by the Left. If there is one thing that they do extremely well it is paint this horrible image of the average Conservative. I am an average conservative and surprisingly I am not an old white male who is trying to destroy the environment while stealing money from the poor. I am a female in her early thirties who works hard for her family. I earn under 200k, which according to Obama means I am not wealthy. Aren't all Republicans rich? I do go to church and I do love Jesus, but I don't hate gay people. Wait - that's not what the Lefts say. Don't all evangelicals hate homosexuals? My husband wants to take my minivan, which is not working, and instead of buying a new vehicle wants to turn it into an eco car that runs off of solar panels. Oh my goodness, a Republican who likes the environment and doesn't want to dump oil in the ocean?
I am so tired of the picture that is painted of the average conservative. The Left says that the Republican party is dying, that our complete and utter destruction is inevitable. We lost the election, but we are not going anywhere. This was not a landslide victory for the Democrats no matter how hard they try to repaint history. They cannot change who we are just by writing some books.

Palestinian Supporters Protest Obama
I have a better idea. Let's go hurl objects at them, their families, their homes and see if they just want to sit there and take it or if perhaps after the weed wears off they might be a little mad. Something tells me they might not like it. But no, Israel is the bad guy. Even though Israel is working to get humanitarian aid to the citizens in Gaza. Do these Woodstock rebels want to defect and go live in Hamas controlled Gaza? I'll help them pack. I believe that we would have a hard time getting them on the airplane.

Holocaust Love Story Sham
He was a Holocaust prisoner, that much of the story is fact. He was held at Buchenwald. He did not meet his dear wife there. He met her in New York and they have been married for fifty wonderful years. He stated that he falsified the tale because he enjoyed bringing hope and love to others. He meant well, but has he done more harm than his message of hope would have brought?
In an era where nations are trying to discredit Holocaust historians and decry that the Holocaust never even happened, falsifying stories is the last thing we need. This will make people skeptical of the ones who tell the truth. I remember hearing a Holocaust survivor speak at my school when I was in junior high. I talked with him, saw the numbers tattooed on his arm. My grandfather served in WWII. He fought against this horrendous atrocity. I have seen the pictures, the video; it was one of the worst moments in our world's history. It needs to be remembered, not doubted.
Rosenblat probably has an amazing story to tell, a true story. A story that could have inspired and touched thousands. Now we will never know...

Saltsman Mix Tape
What on earth made him think this was a good idea? Its not the "negro" word that I am freaking out about (unlike most people). I've read a lot of people who are 'outraged' calling the song racist. Chris Rock and tons of other comedians make a large sum of money poking fun at white people. As a white person am I outraged? No. Do I think Chris Rock is racist? No.
However, when the GOP image is so beaten by the MSM, sending out a mix tape with "Barack the Magical Negro" on it is not the best idea. Why don't we as Republicans just douse ourselves with gasoline and give Olberman the match.
On the flip side, the other people need to lighten up! We all get it, Obama is black. This is not a newsflash (considering how much attention he brought to this fact himself during the campaign). The song that Rush played on his show is about a news article that shared the same title. It is political satire. We all remember what that is right? Its like SNL poking fun at Sarah Palin. They basically called her a ditsy broad by having Tina Fey characterize her, "I can see Russia from my house." As a female am I outraged? No. Do I think that Lorne Michaels is sexist? No. I am outraged the Tina Fey won 'Entertainer of the Year' simply because she happened to resemble Sarah Palin. There weren't any other performers that did more this year? Really? I digress...
Long story short (too late)...
- America, lighten up!
- Obama is black (negro means black)
- Satire is not to be taken seriously, just ask Palin...
- most important - GOP, stop given the MSM easy ammo to attack us with!!!!
